Ingredients list:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- One tablespoon of baking powder

- One tablespoon of granulated sugar
- One large egg
- One teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk

Instructions:
- Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, vanilla extract, milk, and melted butter together until smooth.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until the dough comes together. The dough should be soft but not too sticky.
- Heat the Oil: In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). You’ll want enough oil to submerge the beignets halfway.
- Fry the Beignets: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and gently drop them into the hot oil. Fry for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and puffed.
- Drain and Dust: Remove the beignets from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Dust with powdered sugar while they are still warm.
